I am trying to get in touch with all general managers,
assistant managers, associate managers and kitchen managers who have worked for,
or are still employed by, Carrows restaurant. A class-action lawsuit has
been filed on behalf of all managers in the state of California alleging that
the labor laws were violated. As a manager in California and classified as
an exempt employee (not getting paid overtime), that manager must not spend 50%
of their time doing the same work an hourly employee does. What that means
is this: If you are bussing, pre-bussing, taking orders, delivering drinks,
cleaning floors or bathrooms, seating and greeting, taking cash, cooking,
prepping or putting away inventory for more than 50% of your work week, then you
are entitled to overtime pay at a rate of time and a half.
